I feel way behind on blogging, so here's to catching up on two weeks and everything in between in one post!
Last weekend we were at Dead Lake, as on Saturday Dana, his friend Chris and Kevin went to a snowmobile swap meet and I had a bridal shower/bachelorette party for one of my fiend's in the area. So, we got out to the lake on Friday night.
Clara is really into corn on the cob right now!
Grandma Holly, the girls and I ran to Perham Saturday morning and hit up a couple of thrift stores. These two little old ladies. haha.
The bachelorette party was 80s themed!

Sunday morning Brynn and Grandma made elephant ears. So yummy.
I was glad I had my camera nearby one morning this week to snap this sweet pic of Daddy and Clara.
School is going great for Brynn. I have been trying to get a picture of her getting on the bus one morning, but we're already in the rush mode of scurrying out to the bus to make it on time. :-/
Her teacher has a website set up and she posted this picture of Brynn's class from the first day of school. Brynn is third in from the right.
Speaking of school, we biked over to Centennial to play on the playground equipment one of these beautiful nights this past week.
Brynn pic from a couple of weeks ago that Dana had taken. Nice shot, Brynnie!
Sunday School will also be starting soon and I'm teaching Brynn's class again this year. They had a orientation night on Wednesday and Clara came with too. The theme for this year is space/star explorers as a continuation from VBX.
Brynn was excited that she won the estimation contest this week. Mrs. Smith has an estimation jar where she fills it up with something edible and the students guess how many they think are in the jar. Brynn was the closest this week with her guess of 250. There were actually 316 Skittles in the jar.
The idea is then that the winner takes the jar home for the week and can eat the goodies inside. Then you are to fill it up with something else and bring back the jar to class with a note as to the number of pieces in the jar, and it starts all over again.
Brynn replaced the Skittles with M&Ms. |
Brynn was excited to receive so much mail this week! Claire (the family friend whom Brynn met at Dead Lake while her family was in MN visiting) sent Brynn a card and Brynn received a nice letter from Grandma Darlene. And Brynn and Reagan have been writing back and forth lately in which she just received another note back from Reagan today.
Brynn loved Grandma's nice cursive handwriting and the large cupcake. |
Clara having a random meltdown. |
We were playing outside the other night after we had had chicken for supper when Clara asked for more chicken. Ha. Litttle muncher. So we had some more chicken outside.
This Friday night we went to Grandpa and Grandma Diet'z lake to spend the night in anticipation to celebrate Grandma Laurie's birthday on Saturday.
My sister and her family came up in the morning, too, and some of the crew went to Rollag and the rest hung out at the cabin. These three girls decided to have lunch out on the porch.
Happy birthday, Grandma Laurie!
After the party at my parents', we spent the night at Dead Lake and came back home late this afternoon. It was a little bit of a weird day weather-wise, but did end up pretty nice out this afternoon. The girls had fun playing in the sand.
We were getting ready to make corn for lunch and Clara got a hold of a raw cob. Mind you ALL these pictures after this point are of uncooked corn. Ha. No matter to Clara!
"It's GOOD!" |
Not too sure of how that tastes after all. |
Brynnie trying to get Clara to finish her Cheetos so they can go outside and play some more. |
I asked them to put their arms around each other. oookay. Ha. |
Clara found herself in Papa's chair and wasn't there but five minutes before she was out....along with Papa. :)
Grandpa and Grandma meet up with their lake neighbors for 'happy hour' at 4:00. They took the girls with them this afternoon. One of the ladies is into pottery and offered that Brynn could paint some of her work. Brynn sure loved that!
