My Friend's Wedding

Friday Night Lego Party!

Brynn had gotten to know these two sisters, Olivia and Justice, at the HopeKids day camp during this summer. Turned out they are originally from Fergus (as is their mom) and just moved to Sabin. Since most of their old friends are still in Fergus, they had their joint birthday party there this past Saturday at a pottery shop. Coincidentally it worked out perfectly, as my friend was getting married near Fergus on Saturday and they were also attending the wedding as the mom worked with my friend (Tammy) in Fergus. Whew! I feel like that was a really complex story!

Anyway, Brynn had fun at the party on Saturday afternoon. I hawked this pic the mom had taken off of Facebook.

Once Brynn was back from the party, we started getting ready for the wedding. Of course this is the bride of whose bachelorette party I had attended a few weeks ago. She is one of my old college roommates from Fergus and we actually share the same birthday!

Grandma was curling Clara's hair while Papa was feeding her raisins. :-)

Twinsies

Getting ready to head out for the ceremony. Thanks for the pic, Holly!

The entire wedding, including the ceremony, reception and dance, was held outside at Rockin' K Ranch near Underwood, MN. It was a short drive for us from Grandpa and Grandma's house. The rain held off for the ceremony, but started in off and on once the reception started and throughout the rest of the night. After we were done eating at the reception, we brought the girls back to Grandpa and Grandma's and then we headed back for the rest of the dance. It was a fun wedding and nice to catch up with our old group of college friends. (I didn't take any of the following pics and, again, hawked more from Facebook.)

We joke that Tammy seems to know everyone in the Fergus Falls/Underwood/Battle Lake area and then lo and behold she has Blind Joe of all people play the dance. I did not watch the show when he was on, but you might recognize him from when he was on "The Voice." He did a great job. Tammy got up there with him for one song and they had a nice little duet together. :-)

Shenanigans on the way home on Sunday.

We had a movie night Sunday night and watched 'Zootopia.' I thought it was super funny. Brynn seemed to like it pretty well. Clara said nicely for about the first 45 minutes and then she started to get squirrely and then cuddly and soon it was time for her to cut out and head to bed.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
