Birthdays

This past weekend we celebrated quite a few birthdays. Friday night Brynn attended a birthday party for her friend Haylie. She had an art theme and Brynn had a great time. We picked Brynn up at their house on our way out of town as we were headed to Fergus for more birthday celebration.

Clara napping at Grandpa and Grandma Froemming's house. I noticed she fell asleep hanging on to the side rail. Ha. And with her thumb, of course.

One of the other birthdays we were celebrating was Grandpa Kevin's. Usually when we come back home to celebrate Grandpa's birthday, it ends up to be a shooting weekend with his birthday being so close to deer hunting. Daddy had been talking to Brynn about his BB gun; she really wanted to try it out over the weekend. She made her own target and used up all the ammo they had. Haha. She had such a fun time. She was so tired out after shooting all day, she came into the house for supper and laid down on her make-shift bed in Grandpa and Grandma's room. I thought she had fallen asleep, but when I went to check on her, I noticed she was sad. When I asked her what was wrong, she burst into tears because she couldn't keep shooting and because she didn't hit the bulls-eye. Poor thing. I'm glad she had a fun time out there, though I was left wondering, yet again, why neither of my children are anything like their mother. Haha. That's okay with me.

Mom had a turn, too. I hit a pop can! :-)

On Sunday we celebrated Granny Annie's 80th birthday at their farm. It was fun getting together with everyone and being with Grandma on her birthday.

Daddy's Cousin, Jarrod, Reese and Clara. Reese is about a week older than Clara and it's always fun to watch them together.

Ring Around the Rosie

Always helping Daddy. She loves her a wrench, that's for sure.
Yesterday was Dining with Dads. Dana managed to snap a pic of them during lunch. He also stayed for recess, too.

"Getting dressed" one morning this week.

The other birthday that happened over the weekend was Uncle Chad. Though we were not able to celebrate with him, we send him happy birthday wishes!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
