Dad's Birthday and Mother's Day

Before Mother's Day the girls had their check-up at the dentist. They had a fun toy section for Clara to play in while she waited for sister to get done. Most of the stuffed animals in there had a full set of teeth to which I had to chuckle at the sight of on this fish in particular.

Yay! No cavities!

The week prior to Mother's Day was Muffins for Moms at both of the girls' schools. It's always so fun to go and take part.

Clara woke up too early for us one morning so she slept for another couple of hours in our bed.

Always rough getting up.

For Teacher Appreciation week, the girls gave candy bouquets to their teachers.

Clara's Muffins for Mom. She also had made me a nice paper flower bouquet and vase gift.

Since it was my dad's birthday on the Friday before Mother's Day we spend some time at my parents'. My uncle and cousin were there for the day too, so Brynn jumped at the chance to hang out with their dog, Bits.

Happy birthday, Grandpa!

We came back from my parents' on Saturday night and spend the afternoon at Dana's parents' lake to celebrate Mother's Day with Holly.

It was a really nice day so the girls tried to catch some fish. It was kind of hot and heavy at first, but then it quieted down and they didn't really get much for bites.

The day has come! We set up Clara's big girl bed (which my dad had made for Brynn). She still has the crib in her room as well, just in case. In fact one night this past week she opted for the crib instead. Otherwise, it's going pretty well...as long as she's really tired and falls asleep right away.

Got a little sidewinder one night. ;-)

My work gave every employee a silver maple tree that we could plant. We're trying to fill in more of our tree line to the North of our house, so we were excited to receive a free tree! We had told employees to take pictures of them planting the trees so we could share on social media. My thought was that we would plant the tree together as a family. We had an ideal planting window of a couple of days upon receipt of my tree and that window was rapidly closing on us. So, Dana ran into the house the other night at 9:30 and said we were planting the tree then! Obviously the girls were already in bed and it was nearly dark, but I headed out with him anyhow and we got it planted. Correction: Dana planted it and then I made him take a picture of me next to it as if I had some part in it. :-) Hopefully it grows now!

Today Dana went to Grandpa and Grandma Oberg's farm to help with some spring clean-up there and took his four-wheeler with him. He said it was a nice day for riding. It was super windy here in Fargo. Brynn had a friend for a sleepover and they did make it outside here for a while today despite the less-than-ideal weather.

Aw, greats pics of Dad blowing out his candles and all the kids getting in on the fun. Also loved the boating/fishing pics of the girls. You are such a big girl in your bed, Clara! Awesome!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
