Summer Bucket List Activity: Attend a Redhawks Game

Last night we were able to check one more activity off of our summer bucket list which was to attend a Redhawks baseball game. We had gone to one with Clara before and a few with Brynn and it's usually a pretty fun time.

On our way home yesterday I was telling Clara that we were going to be going to the game and she thought it was hockey. ;-)

The usually have some type of promotion of some sort each home game and last night it was dress like your favorite superhero. Brynn didn't really have anything to dress up as, so she kind of fashioned something up herself and Clara wore her Incredibles suit that she got for her birthday.

Of course we had to keep the snacks coming. Brynn had Dippin' Dots.

Clara shared her huge popcorn with us.

Clara was petrified of Hawkeye, so it was just Brynn for the photo op.

One of the players from the opposing team got steamed about something so there was a bit of a skirmish on the field for a couple of minutes...thankfully it didn't amount to anything really.

Brynn got an autograph from Hawkeye. When she was younger whenever she would say Hawkeye's name, I always thought she was saying "hot guy." haha.

We didn't make it all the way until the end as we left around the 8th inning and it was already at least 9:30 by that time. I think they did win, though. They were up 5 to 3 when we left.

Fun! How funny - one of Benjamin's favorite superheroes actually is named Hawkeye but he's some kind of archery fellow. Avenger maybe? Anyway, love that picture of you and the girls - their grins!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
