Mid-summer Updates

The girls had the bubbles out one nice evening last week.

Clara already went to her four-year check-up. She's doing great! I did tell her pediatrician that, yes, she is still sucking her thumb. He didn't say too much other than some suggestions of how to try and curb it.

After Clara's appointment we came home and made calzones...with a giraffe. ;-)

More animal dress-up. Last Friday it was dress-up day and you could dress up as any character or animal that you wanted. So, Clara chose to go as a black kitty.

On Saturday the girls headed to Dead Lake while Uncle Chad and Auntie Tessa came to go to the Journey/Def Leppard concert with us. We had a nice dinner out and made our way over to the concert.

Brynn made me this sign that I was to take to the concert along with her light up stick thing.

Chad and I had a great time and were totally in our classic rock element while Dana and Tessa more or less tolerated it. :-)

Meanwhile the girls were having fun at the lake.

Sorry for all my text on top of this video. I shot it in Instagram and should have saved it as a regular video before I added all my commentary. However, I walked it upon the most hilarious and precious conversation. Brynn was taking her shower and Clara wanted to sit in and visit with her. She asks Brynn, "do you like cows?" hahaha. Brynn did answer that, yes, she does like cows.

Clara had her shower after their visit and Grandma braided her hair.

So pretty!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
