Anniversary Celebration & Hay Ride

We had gone through all our winter gear when the weather started to turn on us a couple of weeks ago. We had just needed to actually stock up on what the girls had worn out or outgrown from last year. So, finally last week we got Clara some snow boots that she needed. We went to Fleet Farm and she spied this pumpkin display on the way out and asked me to snap a picture of her by them. Ha.

Last weekend we headed back to my parents' for Grandpa's annual fall hay ride and to celebrate my parents' 40th wedding anniversary which is coming up on October 22nd.

Clara was supposed to be resting and I was hoping she would fall asleep with her napping buddy, Seymour, here, but I think she was too concerned about what he was doing to actually sleep.

Tessa and her fam were in Carrington earlier on Saturday for Reagan's basketball jamboree up at the school. Brynn went over to watch for a bit while Ben and Oliver stayed to hang out and nap. Clara was interested in Ben's Nintendo DS. I thought it was so cute how she was resting her chin on his shoulder.

Hay ride time! It actually turned out to be pretty nice for the ride, though it was really windy.

Happy 40th, guys, and many more!

Oh Clara - she was upset because they started singing without her apparently, or something to that effect.

Sunday morning checkers game with Grandpa.

Seymour! 💓

Brynn was busy drawing a cartoon version of Harry Potter.

Clara working on a numbering project at school.

Brynn's fifth grade school picture. I thought they turned out great!

Seymour looks so cozy! Love the picture of Grandma Darlene & Clara. The ones of mom & dad turned out so well! And Brynn's school picture looks great - I'd take one if you have some!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
