I've got some catching up to do here on the ole blog.
Last weekend (the weekend of the 2nd) I was gearing up to head out to California for one of our biggest trade shows for work. So, Dana suggested we have a family fun night before I was gone for almost a full week.
We started out with dinner at Carino's which everyone enjoyed.
Then we caught the Lego Movie 2 that was playing in theaters.
Maybe a future flick that we want to see?
It was my first time in the Dream Lounger seating and I was very proud of myself that I stayed awake.
On Sunday it was pretty cold out, but the girls still made it out for a little bit. Brynn was able to slide ride down the steps on the deck.
After a 2.5-hour flight delay out of Fargo, we made to Anaheim on Tuesday night.
Jen and I set up our booth and then snapped a pic.
The whole HFI gang!
We had some live crops shipped in for us to show in our booth. Thankfully they actually did stay alive for the duration of the show.
One of our signature ingredients is our Suntava Purple Corn. It is produced domestically by our contracted growers, but the original strain came from Peru. So, we served up a few purple corn items to show attendees how it can be utilized in different product applications. One of the things we served was a traditional Peruvian drink called chicha morada. I think I may have posted about it a little while back when I tried my hand at making it at home. One of our salesmen brought this jug of it to show and you can see the dispensers with fruit in them in the background. It was quite a hit! I estimated that we served over 700 cups of it from our booth.
We had pretty good weather while we were there, with it only raining on Wednesday...coincidentally the same day we were bringing a bunch of our stuff over from our hotel to the convention center. Still was better than ND temps!
We stay at the Candy Cane Inn and you can see the backside of DisneyLand from our parking lot. I didn't make it over to Disney unfortunately.
I found this booth and became and instant fan. It was so good! I need to find it in a store here in Fargo now.
With the additional snow we had received back home, I was worried about getting my car back out of the airport parking lot, but it wasn't too bad.
Brynn made me this wonderful sign!
Vegging out on Sunday night.
Brynn is off all this week for spring break and since I had been at the show for so many days, I had planned to take a day off this week so I could have a girls day with Brynn and Clara.
We started out making pancakes this morning.
Clara had kept telling me that she wanted to cut her hair off short. I kept asking her if she was sure and went she repeatedly assured me that she was, I made an appointment for today for her. Brynn wanted to get her hair trimmed up too. Everything was on track - we were even talking about it before I left for my work trip and I was asking her how short she was going to go, and I told her if that's what she wanted to do, we'll do it; to which she replied, "that's just the road I go!" Haha. Indeed! Well, until last night when she up and decided she didn't even want to get it cut at all anymore. Gah! But, we showed up today to our girl Ashley to see what she thought was a good length.
My library card had expired and so I thought it would be a good time to stop by the library anyhow and the girls could pick out some books to check out.
Next up was lunch at Carinos...yes, again! haha. A new fav place to eat, I guess.
Brynn chose where we went for lunch and Clara got to choose where we went for dessert, so we ended up at Cold Stone.
We had a fun day and just bummed around at home this afternoon and did crafty stuff and I updated the blog here now. Glad to be home...in time for another storm. Where is spring?!
