Fall Things

On the days Clara does distance learning, she likes to make herself some pancakes, which she can mostly do on her own now.

Clara came with me on a morning walk on Friday and came upon a gaggle (is that the correct term?) of wild turkeys and tried to chase after them a bit. (Actually, I was walking and she was biking - hence her helmet).

The girls took it upon themselves to decorate for Halloween on Friday. Photo credit goes to Clara.

Clara raked some leaves on the nice day we had on Friday.

I've been wanting to take in the Red River Market in downtown Fargo, but hadn't made it there before. It was supposed to be beautiful weather on Saturday so it seemed like a good day to go. The girls and I had also planned on visiting a pumpkin patch, so we swung by the market beforehand. Unfortunately, we weren't very quick moving and were only there for the last 15 minutes.

Clara really enjoyed the live music.

I pointed out a Harry Potter section at this particular vendor to Brynn and she found a golden snitch watch necklace and Clara chose a crystal keychain.

After the market we made it out to the Buffalo River Pumpkin Patch near Glyndon. We hadn't been to that one before, but it was really nice.

And, they had a mini donut cart there serving them up fresh. They were so good.

My screen cracked on my phone and part of the cracks is over the front facing camera, so my selfies be lookin' wonky lately. :-/

I'm so glad we took advantage of the gorgeous fall day on Saturday with the market and pumpkin patch because I think it's not going to be quite as nice this coming weekend. It sounds like the girls are planning on carving their pumpkins that they picked out though.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
