Birthdays

A couple of weekends ago we were able to celebrate Ben's 9th birthday. He and most of the rest of the Weckerly fam are obsessed with the musical 'Hamilton,' so that was the theme he chose. The cake was amazing!

It was a super fun party with games...

....even for the big kids. (Tug-of-war pics from Tessa's blog.)

One day when it was so nice outside last week the girls fashioned up this pulley system with Clara's jump rope and bag.

The latest thing I whipped up in my new blender was a smoothie bowl. I was making it for work actually (Here's the recipe!), but I did eat it and it was super tasty.

The girls each made a batch of Rice Krispies treats for the weekend.

Brynn and I headed to Weckerlys' again last weekend, this time to celebrate Grandma Darlene's birthday. We kicked off the celebration with old pictures from when Grandpa and Grandma were first married up through the mid-80s. It was so fun; I love looking at old photos.

Auntie Shelly wearing the dress that Clara now has.

Elise played the happy birthday song on her clarinet.

It was so nice to celebrate together this year.

Brynn and I didn't get back home very early on Saturday night, but I had to teach Sunday school the next morning, so we weren't able to stay another night.

Meanwhile, Dana and Clara went up to Kohl's Resort where a bunch of Dana's college friends and their families were getting together for the weekend.

Brynn helped me teach Sunday school on Sunday morning, but before we headed over to church, we stopped in at Village Inn for breakfast. We were saddened to hear that it will actually be closing (not sure when) and will be converted to a bank. :-(  Brynn's crepes were super yummy; so was my waffle.

The girls being silly in my heels.

Brynn being silly rocking out. :-)

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
