School's Out

Last Sunday after her soccer game, Clara invited over her twin brother classmate friends. They were so sweet and well-behaved. They were only here for a little over an hour, so they had to pack in as much fun as they could.

This year's teacher inscription to Clara in her "Oh, The Places You Will Go" book.

This week Clara's class got to tie dye shirts that they all wore for their outing to the park on Wednesday.

The last day of school for the girls was this past Thursday.

First day of first grade and last day comparison for Clara:

Clara and I biked to school on the last day.

First day of eighth grade and last day comparison for Brynn. Not sure how she manages to age so much in the span of one year...every year!

Clara teacher was superb this year as well and she had a great year of first grade. She will really miss Ms. Monson.

Brynn collected a bunch of signatures for her yearbook. They did a clap-out for the 8th graders (a good-bye to middle school as they transition on to high school), which I was not allowed to attend per Brynn. I actually don't know if any other parents go to it, but I thought it would be cool and would largely go unnoticed, but no dice. :-) She is looking forward to starting high school next year.

Clara's class yearbook that they put together...

After dinner we went for our end-of-the-school-year treat at Insomnia Cookies.

Brynn was itching to finish up at Insomnia to get over to her friend sleepover. They had a whole host of activities planned, some of which included making cupcakes, painting tennis shoes and decorating sunglasses.

Brynn is going to be home and watch Clara this week and then our nanny will start on the 6th. Clara is very excited to spend the summer with Jenine (nanny). Clara is signed up for tennis, golf, track, swimming and will be finishing up soccer in the next couple of weeks.

Brynn is still planning to work at Culver's, continue to practice driving and get her driver's permit.

Here's to a great summer!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
