Games + Lake + Anniversary

For our XaBeat class on Wednesday morning, the birthday person chose a theme of 'why is this still in my closet?' Of course I had to pull out the beloved fur coat my dad had bought for my mom. It was way too warm to dance in, though, so it didn't last long. I did feel very fancy though.

I could see Clara swinging outside my office window when I was working from home one day last week. She was supposed to be cleaning her room before Nanny Izabell came, but I think snuck outside instead.

Last Wednesday was the Robins last soccer game for the season and it was a great one! They had an awesome season and they had a good cheering section with Grandpa and Grandma Froemming, Grandpa Kim and Brynn in attendance.

Big thanks to Dana for coaching again! The girls really got along and played together well.

Izabell and Clara had prepped some water balloons to bring for some post-game fun. Clara nailed Dana.

After the game Grandpa, Clara and I went straight to the Redhawks game which had a delayed start of about an hour due to rain. It was a fun game, but it started to get pretty late so we had to leave in the 7th inning, I think it was.

Brynn and Brooklyn made some yummy banana bread last week.

Dana and Clara went to Dead Lake on Thursday and the plan was for Brynn and I to join them on Friday after I got off work, but there was nothing but rain forecasted for the weekend, so they came back on Friday night and Brynn and I never went. But, Dana and Clara were able to get some fun in before they got rained out.

Saturday night Dana and I went out to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. We started out at the Toasted Frog for dinner and then went to Granite City for drinks and dessert afterward.

The movie we were going to was close by at West Acres Cinema, so I told Dana we should just walk over. Apparently he mentioned something about it raining (wasn't at the time) and supposedly I brushed that off and so we trekked over on foot. Sure enough it was pouring after the movie, so he ran and picked me up, but pulled RIGHT up to the door so I didn't even get one bit wet. 💓 It was a fun night!

Nanny Izabell is on a family vacation this week, so Clara ended up in Carrington hanging with Grandpa and Grandma. They left Fargo Sunday afternoon and fit all that you see here yet that day. Thanks, Grandpa and Grandma for having her!

Looks like she got put to work at Grandma's office right away.

Cousin Oliver got to come stay too!

Brynn worked on an anniversary cake for us on Sunday.💜

And then she messed around with my camera a little bit.

AND picked up flowers for us for our anniversary. So sweet.

The '51 is now road ready, so we took it out for a spin.

Monday was our actual anniversary which we continued our celebration from Saturday night with a side-by-side ride, of course, and enjoying Brynn's cake. It was delish. Thank you to everyone who wished us a happy anniversary!

Oh, and more flowers! My boss noticed pointed out to me that there were 19 roses for each year of our marriage. Duh!  They smelled so good!

Ahh, so much goodness! Love that Clara also had her headphones on out on the swings. I'm with her - why clean your room when you could be on the swingset jamming?? Go Robins! What a fun team. I love the look on Clara's face in that last photo. So cute. Dana is a good sport. Dad said he had such a good time at the Red Hawks game. That banana bread looks delicious. I have a bunch of over-ripe bananas on my counter right now, so this is inspiring me to make some banana bread. Sorry your weekend plans got rained out. Looks like you had lots of fun celebrating your anniversary! Those pictures of Clara at mom's office are gold. I might have to commission Brynn to make my next birthday cake - that looks so good.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...
