Brynn graduates!

Of course we had many lists and schedules going in getting ready for Brynn's graduation. :-D We mostly stayed on track and everything came together wonderfully for her party.

Friday night before Brynn's grad party on Saturday, we hosted a little get-together on the deck with auntie Tessa, Reagan and Elise...and Clara was invited too. Brynn wanted to put together a slideshow and show it for the girls and serve s'mores and fun drinks. We had a really good time.

How cute are Brynn's PJs!? Auntie Tessa bought them for her earlier this year and were the perfect thing for the evening as we decided the dress code was comfy clothes/pajamas.

Cash Wise made Brynn's cake and the grandmas and our neighbor, Barb, made cookies and scotcharoo bars.

Brynn wanted to display her artwork.

A future Hawk! Brynn will be majoring in Psychology at the University of North Dakota starting in the fall.

So glad Great-Grandma Ann was able to come!

Oliver showing the M&Ms we ordered with Brynn's face on them.

I'm chatting with who will be Brynn's roommate at UND and her mom.

Thank you to everyone who came to the party and who helped us with everything, from baking to taking pictures - helping before, during and after. Our friends, Jessica and Roger, were so great in making sure the food was stocked at all times (and Tessa restocking beverages and Chad's ice runs!). And we had Jess and Rog so busy with that, I realized later that we didn't even get a photo of them with Brynn! It was a lot of planning and work, of course, but Brynn did all the decor herself, after Dana stained and put together the pallets for her. But we were all so happy with how everything came together.

After Brynn's party, she had another one of her friend's parties to attend, so she headed out for that and then went to Suite Shots with friends.

I'm not sure from when some of these other friend party pics are from exactly, but just thought I'd include them in this post:

Sunday was the graduation ceremony at the FargoDome. We realized we overestimated the parking situation coming and underestimated going out. I think we were the second car to arrive. Ha. Clara asked me if I was sure we had the correct day. We did. ;-)

I think we were there in total of about four hours with  getting there so early and then the actual ceremony itself taking a while. So, we told Clara to pack provisions in the way of food and something to occupy herself.

The Class of 2026!

Slideshow!

It took us a bit to catch up with Brynn outside, but I'm glad we did and am so thankful for the grandmas taking photos, because these are my favorite. It was such an emotional moment.

Once we made our way out of the parking lot, we had some food ready and waiting for us back at the house and Brynn played her slideshow for the grandparents.

YAY! Biggest congratulations to Brynn. It was such an exciting time with all the emotions, but we are so, so proud of you!

Gettin' right to work on the thank-you notes!

I was pretty proud of myself for holding up quite well emotionally! As many tears as I might have shed, I was equally excited and every other emotion in between. I think it will hit me most when August 22nd comes and we move her up to her dorm. But for now, we'll enjoy the summer! Thank you, again, to everyone for all the love and support!

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
