Christmas #3

On Thursday we headed to my parents' for the start of Christmas #3. We ended at Tessa and Chad's and came back late last night. Thank you, everyone, for all the awesome gifts. It was great to spend time with everyone.

Vacation is officially over tomorrow. Back to work and school. Boo!

Playing a rousing game of Pass the Pigs, or as I like to call it, Piggly Wiggly. Dana gave up on the game after Tessa admitted to cheating.

Grandma D getting some snuggles in with Clara.

After many years of doing daycare, Auntie Shelly still has the touch.

Working on Sophie

This morning Brynn got right to work on some of the gifts she received. She got this tea set that you could paint. She went with a Disney princess theme. It was very cool.

Working on some suncatchers

We set up the jumperoo for Clara today. What a hoot. We were all laughing at her bouncing around in that thing. She seemed to like it.

She has really been chewing on everything lately. Santa brought her those teething rings not a day too soon. I remember when Brynn was a baby that I kept thinking, "oh! She's teething now," and then she didn't get any teeth until she was 15 months old. But it really does seem like Clara is teething! Ha. We shall see.

We tried cereal again tonight and it possibly went a little better, but she still didn't seem to like it very much. What she did like this past weekend, though, was to snarf tiny bits of mashed banana off my fingers.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
