Happy 7th Birthday, Brynn

Happy Birthday to our Brynnie girl! She has been so excited in anticipation for her birthday. She even made a countdown chain and went right away to take down the last link on Friday morning. She received two birthday calls right away, and one even before she was up!

I showed her the below picture that I posted on Facebook for her birthday, and she said, "aww, cute. I had a lot of hair!" Ha.

It sounded like she had fun celebrating at school and at Hope. She brought cookies to school to share for her birthday treat.

Brynn's First Birthday

Of course Brynn chose McDonald's as her choice restaurant to eat out for her birthday dinner. Grandpa and Grandma were coming through town, so they met us for supper. Brynn was pretty excited about that.

She also wanted to have a movie night after we went out to eat, so she watched 'Tangled' for a while until bedtime. She opened one of our gifts which was this set of headphones.

Today was Brynn's friend party. Rosha came over early to play and she helped us make the brownies Brynn requested for the party treat.

This year her theme for the party is the same as her family party which was an art theme. We thought it would be a fun craft for the party to decorate party hats.

Brynn decorated the favor bags for the girls.

There's Suzie, hanging out waiting for the party to start. She's actually fairly under the weather at the moment. :-( Poor babe. She is running a fever and has a cough and what appears to be a general nasty cold.

The girls were all very creative with their hats. It was fun to see what they came up with.

She had a fun time celebrating her birthday with her friends and is now looking forward to her family party next weekend. At the beginning of the day yesterday she didn't quite feel seven yet, but by the time I picked her up at the end of the day, she said she definitely felt seven. ;-)

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
