Father's Day

The swing set is complete! Brynn is loving it. It turned out great. Dana found an infant swing on Craigslist that we have yet to pick up and then Clara can swing, too. Brynn has been on it every day since it went up, most nights until it was time for bed. She told me after the first night that she was going to get up early and go out and swing. So if I got up and couldn't find her, then I would know where she was, she said. :-) It's already so nice having it in our own backyard; I'm glad she is enjoying it as much as she is already.

Our friend Dave came over to help, too.

Brynn made Daddy this bracelet and he has been wearing it all week. ;-)

Poor Clara was sick again these past few days. On Saturday, or probably Friday night rather, she came down with coxsackievirus. She was running a fever of over 104*. She was really miserable. Grandma Holly came to stay home with her (and Brynn) these past couple of days so that Dana and I could put some hours in at work. That was so helpful as we were trying to be in the office to get things done there in anticipation of going out to Dead Lake. We leave tomorrow and she is feeling back to her silly self it seems. Yay! Huge thank you to Grandma Holly for helping us out!

She has just gotten more and more mobile again, and can now pull herself up on things to standing.

Sissies on the couch. Clara is looking pretty sorry here, with her fever.

Brynn had Rosha over to play on Saturday and they had the doctor kit out. It was Clara's turn to be the patient.

On Sunday we celebrated Father's Day with Dana here at home. My parents stopped through for a quick visit on their way home from the lake, so we were able to see my dad on Father's Day too.

Brynn loves to hide people's gifts and then make them search for them, so that is what she wanted to do with Dana for his Father's Day gifts. Here is video of his hot/cold treasure hunt.

She got his cereal ready for him that morning, which included a breakfast-specific card. I love the minion one below that!

I cannot take credit for this cute gift idea. Clara's daycare put together this one...it was a box of Reese's Pieces with a note that said "love you to pieces."

Poor Clara...glad to hear she's better. Tell Brynn that I LOVE minions and can hardly wait for their new movie in July. Maybe I'll have to come to Fargo and she and I can make a date to see it. Love all the pics and stories. Hugs to all

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
