Last Day of First Grade

Last Thursday was Brynn's last day of first grade. I thought maybe she'd like to give Mrs. Stewart (her teacher) a little gift, but she said she was too shy to do that. She usually is not that way, so I was a bit surprised, but perhaps she didn't to try and carry something on the bus. I suggested she could just leave it on her desk for her, but Mom never has any good ideas, so she ended up making her this very nice little book.

Little sissy "helping" big sister get her shoes on.

Getting on the bus for the last time as a first grader. oh goodness!

They had planted a bean plant in school and then brought it home to care for over the summer. It's still alive! For now.

This past weekend we went to St. Cloud to visit our family friends. Brynn had fun playing with their kids.

Sleepy times on the ride home. Daddy thought Clara would like to have a mirror for something to look at during car rides. It is kind of nice being able to see her face while I'm driving.

Where's the beef? Ha. Couldn't resist.

Clara turned 10 months old in Tuesday. I have written more in her baby book for her 9th month than any of the other months so far. She is getting so active. She army crawls now and can get herself into a sitting position and pretty much always eats what we're eating for supper now. She has gotten a lot better at drinking out of her sippy cup, too.

And so it has begun where she is starting to get into everything. She figured out how to open these drawers here and found herself a sticker that she tried to eat. :-/

We went out to the park the other night for a few minutes before Clara started getting ready for bed. It was her first time in the swings. Daddy gave her a little push and I think it startled her. She started to cry, so that was the end of the swings. :-) She just didn't really seem to know what to think of them.

Homemade cards and notes are always appreciated, I'm sure. Hope you had a great year of first grade, Brynn! Love the picture of the girls together. Reagan's class started bean plants when she was in kindergarten and it was so fun to watch it grow. We planted it in the garden and then got to eat the beans. Haha, that picture of Dana & Clara at the park is great. And you and Clara! See you guys soon!

Pretty special keepsake for Mrs. Stewart. Hard to believe the school year is over. Clara's hair is really growing! Cute pics!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
