Shennanigans

Well, I made it to my trade show in California and back again. I missed the fam very much and missed out on Benjamin's birthday party. Dana (and my parents) did take the girls, though, so I was really glad that they attended.

I left on a 6 AM flight last Thursday morning and so I didn't see Brynn that day at all. Her teacher texted me after school and said Brynn got a little emotional. :-( I felt so bad, especially since I was so far away and couldn't do anything. Ms. Jarvis suggested Brynn make a me picture and then made Brynn the hero of the day on Friday. I was able to visit with Brynn on the phone on Friday and she wasn't missing me as much with the grandparents around on Thursday and the other set on Friday and Saturday. I was able to do Google Hangout (video chat) with Dana and Brynn on Saturday. And then I was home late Sunday afternoon.

I heard the weather was gorgeous here last weekend, and it seems Fargo was actually warmer than Anaheim on Saturday. Figures! Ha. The trip was fun and the trade show was successful, but I was glad to get back home.

The trade show gang and me in our booth.

Dana had sent me these pics of the girls taking advantage of the great weather:

Watch out for the cookie monster, aka Clara.

Good to be home.

Clara taking care of babies...

Happy St. Patrick's Day! The leprechaun made his way into our house again this year, turning the milk green and leaving cookies with green sprinkles for the girls.

Tomorrow Clara is officially a toddler and not in the infant room at daycare anymore. For the past two weeks, she has been transitioning by spending a little time in the toddler room each day. They said she's been doing very well over there. We'll miss all the teachers and cute babies in the infant room, but at least Clara will still see familiar faces as the more part-time helpers float around to the different rooms to help out during different times of the day.

We started brushing Clara's teeth now and while brushing tonight, I spotted another tooth that came in on the top. She really is getting to be such a big girl.

Words she's saying lately: baby, wa-wa (for water), shoes (although it sounds like she's skipping the o and e when she says it).

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
