sisters

Daddy saw a LEGO set online that he couldn't pass up, so he and the girls worked on some LEGO fun last Sunday.

The girls were being extra silly in Clara's room one night before bed.

Of course there are hard feelings around here about something every day.

Followed by "sorry" and kisses to make-up.

Yay! I finally made it to visit my sister and her new baby, Oliver, yesterday. I only stayed one night and headed back yesterday evening. But, I was so grateful for the time I was able to spend with them. He is such a good, sweet baby. We did take quite a few pictures of him, but I will wait to post any until Tessa has the chance to first. I did snap this one with my phone.

What a beautiful night it was to be outside tonight. It was nice to get out after so many rainy, dreary days.

Gettin' in my steps! Ha.

Clara had a rough go of things today, as she fell and scraped up her face on some cement at daycare. :-( Poor thing.

Brynn met up with some of her classmate friends at the park. She was able to make plans for a playdate with one of them tomorrow, so she's really looking forward to that.

Clara trying to keep up with the big kids.

It is really hard for us to get Clara to sit still for anything, especially a picture.

She was more interested in what Dad was doing. She's always asking "where Dad?"

After we came in from outside, of course she had to have a little 'bed lunch,' as my grandpa always used to call it. Her high chair was kind of close to the fridge door which had swung close to her when I opened it to get out some milk for her. Apparently that was too close for her comfort because she held out her hand and told the door, "no, stop!" haha.

Unfortunately this photo is super grainy, but I just love it anyway. I set Clara in Brynn's lap with her hairbrush and she handed the brush to Brynn so she could do it. Brynn was singing a sweet song she had made up for her, brushing her hair. And Brynn's mismatched socks, which she loves to wear that way. Heart melting.

Aw . . . such sweet moments. Poor Clara - but I'll bet she'll be healed up in no time. Sounds like she's quite the talker these days! You are so fortunate to have the park so near - fun for Brynn & friends especially!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
