Photos of the Girls + Videos

I tried to take some nice pics of the girls while we were at the lake last week. Brynn was an excellent model, but trying to take pictures of Clara right now is like trying to wrestle a greased pig. She is cute though. :-)

You may recall when Brynn's PeeWee penguin credit union artwork was published in the newsletter. She was surprised to find a box from PeeWee on our doorstep yesterday.

This video explains: Brynn's PeeWee Prize Box. Sorry for the annoying sound while she's reading her letter; Clara was scraping her bowl with her spoon. :-P Regardless, very exciting!

Letter from PeeWee

Daddy brought flowers home for me for our anniversary.

We bought Clara a little bath robe, but she doesn't seem to like it much unfortunately.

helping!

Clara's favorite sayings and words right now and other cute things:
  • What happened? (She says this because she always says 'un-oh' or 'owie' and then I ask her what happened.)
  • No night-night. (She has really been fighting going to sleep the past few nights.) or just 'no' in general.
  • Why? (The "whys" have already started. Aaahhhh!)
  • Beep, beep (when she wants you to move out of her way)
  • What's that?
  • I did it! or Tada!
  • I happy. (She has said this a couple of times now and it is just so precious.)
  • The other night she was looking for me when she was in the living room and I was in our bedroom. I could hear her ask Daddy, "where Mommy?" He tried to tell her where I was, but she just kept trying to find me, and finally I come into the living room and see her leaning over the top of the stairway, yelling, "mom! mom!' She loves to say 'mom' over and over and half yell it at me. And then even when I acknowledge her she will continue to say 'mom.' It always reminds me of this clip from the movie "Wedding Crashers" and the clip from an episode of "Family Guy." Haha.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
