Reagan's Birthday and Sunday School Program

Clara received a Christmas letter from Grandma Darlene last week which she has been cherishing and reading to herself since it came in the mail. Here she was "reading" it to me again. She says "Mary and Joseph were pregnant" at the end, but I think it sounds like penguin-ant. I was laughing so hard.

On Friday at my office, we capped the week with a soup and salad potluck, ugly sweater contest and voted on the best Christmas decorated office space. I won ugliest sweater! You can't see them in this pic, but I had on my Christmas leggings and I think that's what gave me the edge. :-) Every year when I wear an ugly sweater Brynn and Clara always comment on how pretty it is and Brynn seems shocked that I would call it ugly. Ha.

On Saturday we attended cousin Reagan's 11th birthday party at the YMCA in Fargo where the older kids got to take on the rock climbing wall. It was pretty incredible to watch them!

They had other fun activities too and Brynn challenged Grandpa Kim to game of air hockey.

Happy birthday, Reagan. We love you!

Brynn went to stay with Grandpa and Grandma Dietz at the lake for the weekend and Grandma Holly was staying with us and putting on a second coat of paint upstairs..and then also held down the fort at home so that Dana and I could have a date night. We went to the Tru Blu Social Club which is a fairly new place in West Fargo. It was a really fun time with good drinks and food (popovers!) and live music.

Our enormous popover loaf. It was served with this really yummy honey butter. It was Dana's first introduction to a popover.

This guy was really talented.

On Sunday Brynn sang in church for Christmas. She's that cute little face in the middle of the sea of other kids! I totally spaced on taking any video unfortunately. They sounded great though.

On Sunday afternoon I tried to finish wrapping and the girls finished the gifts for Clara's preschool teachers...our usual, the candy jars!

Clara loooved running that glue gun!

Dad makes a handy chair.

Tonight we made note of what we want to do during Christmas vacation next week. Dana and I will both be home from work and are looking forward to lots of family fun time...probably in between Dana's projects. ;-)

Haha, that is so funny about them loving your ugly sweater. Looks like a fun date night! Brynn looked very nice in her dress. Looks like some fun Christmas plans!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
