This year's theme for our church's VBS (which they actually call VBX for Vacation Bible Xperience) was science: Kinetic Labs. They sure outdid themselves again this year! Clara was old enough to attend now that she is three and really enjoyed going.
They were both at Hope for 12 straight hours for four straight days! After I dropped them off at 8:00 AM this week, I came back around 5:00. I don't remember them doing this in the past, but now they had served supper right before VBX started, so we stayed and ate and then VBX went from 5:45 until 8:00 pm. I thought for sure they would be so tuckered out and fall right asleep at night. Boy, was I wrong. Ha. They were so pumped up and jazzed from singing songs and doing all kinds of neat things that it took them a while to settle down.
They sing songs at the beginning of the night and at the end. I don't know why (well, I suppose because I'm a crybaby anyhow), but I get so emotional seeing just how many kids are there participating in VBX and how they get so excited and so into it.
And, of course, the confetti bomb to cap off the week! So awesome.
