Birthdays Celebration

On Tuesday Brynn had her first guitar lesson using my mom's guitar that she gave to Brynn. I got such a kick out of the instructor's wall o' posters, I had to take a pic of it. Colin seems like he'll be a great teacher. We told Brynn to see how she feels after a few more lessons to make sure she wants to continue.

Daddy and the girls toiled for two nights this week making my favorite cupcakes for my birthday.

They turned out so good!

Tessa came all the way up to Fargo to have lunch with me for my birthday! We tried out Rosey's downtown which had excellent sandwiches. I would definitely go back there again. We played the 90s trivia game that Tessa gave me for my birthday whilst we were there. It's a super fun game and probably one of the few trivia games that I have any sort of chance at.

We had time for a quick trip to Scoop N Dough after lunch. Sooo good.

The girls looked to pretty to go out to eat.

Later on Friday Dana's family came for the weekend to celebrate both of our birthdays together. After dinner we got together in the yard for some pics.

Finally digging into those cupcakes! Very tasty!

We opened our gifts before cupcakes and I received this sweet apron from Christel and John and my meowgical face mask from Holly and Kevin.

On Saturday night my parents had us and Cindy and Carey out to the lake for a nice dinner and cake. Here we come 38!

Dana and I sure felt the love this birthday. Thank you to everyone who sent us cards, gave us gifts, love, food and more! Love you all.

It was chilly out today, but Dana and the girls spent most of the day outside as Dana was working on some landscaping projects and the girls were playing. They also got the potatoes and onions planted in the garden.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
