Teacher Appreciation & Mother's Day

A couple of weeks ago for Teacher Appreciation week we took gifts to the girls' teachers. Brynn gave her teacher a Harry Potter water bottle as she is a fellow Potter Head. I didn't get a picture of her with it, though. Clara did a candy bouquet again which works out nicely because she has several different teachers.

She was just ecstatic to give it to her teachers.

Last week I was treated to two Muffins with Moms with the first at Brynn's school and with what was the last for Brynn since I suppose they don't do it in middle school. Bummer!

A couple days later I had round two at Clara's school. She wanted us to be matching that day too. :-)

She made lots of sweet crafts for me.

She really put me on blast knowing my real age. ;-) They must have done this right before my birthday. There, I just outed myself now. Ha.

On Saturday we went to Grandpa and Grandma Dietz's lake place to "help" with their garage sale. I feel like I didn't really do anything but hang out, so I had a good time. Brynn was checking out some of Grandpa's sale wares.

We had baked cookies on Friday night and Brynn made banana bread to sell. She did pretty well!

Since it was my dad's birthday on Saturday and Mother's Day the next day, we went out for dinner in Hawley and Brynn got to ride in Grandm'a Vette.

Brynn stayed the night at Grandpa and Grandma's and the rest of us drove back home.

We attended a very nice Mother's Day service at church and then came back home and the fam made me brunch.

Yum! It was all so good.

After we got some things cleaned up at home, we headed to Dead Lake to see Dana's mom for Mother's Day. It was a nice day for the most part, but with a breeze and the sun coming and going, we couldn't decide if we were warm or cold.

No bother for Clara, though. She got her feet wet and accidentally her behind too. Brrr!

We were able to spend some time with Grandpa Don and Granny Annie, too, as they drove up for the afternoon as well.

We ran out of time for me to open my gifts on Sunday, so we did it this week. I got a nice neck pillow for when I am snoozing while traveling and a pair of sandals that I wanted. I love the cat card, of course!

It was a wonderful entire weekend. We are so grateful for the mothers in our lives. And to my mom for preparing me for my own motherhood journey by starting me out reading up on the subject at a young age. ;-)

Haha, yes that last picture is great. I love Brynn's yellow sweater! That is a great picture of she and mom and dad at the rummage sale. So cute that Clara wanted you guys to match at muffins for moms :)

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
