Thanksgiving 2022

For some reason we didn't get too far on our thankful pumpkin this year, but we still were able to mark down some things we're grateful for.

Clara's turkey she made in school. 💓

The girls helped with cleaning and food prep on Wednesday.

Tessa and fam came on Wednesday night as Tessa was signed up for a puzzle competition with a couple of her friends. Dana had gotten tickets through Fix it Forward for the Fargo Force hockey game that night and Chad and Ben accompanied him there. Ben even caught the puck which was super exciting.

After Tessa got Dana going on a explanation of the different types and levels of engineers, Dana found himself in the midst of cleaning out his entire wardrobe with the support of Tessa, Elise and Brynn. Well after midnight and with what seemed only a few pieces of clothing remaining, they had a shopping list and a plan to hit up Black Friday to replace what was being tossed out....or demoted to the garage (of which there was a lot!).

Without Reagan this year to assist Dana on the ribs, Ben was on deck!

Dana took the kids on several rounds in the sled with the four-wheeler. It really was a nice day outside.

Several round of Catch Phrase and Nertz were played...

Master Gravy Maker at it again this year!

Happy Birthday to auntie Christel (on Friday)!

Aww- a birthday hug.

Tessa brought amazing desserts again this year.

In a role reversal from years' past Black Friday shopping, I was the driver and Tessa, Dana, Brynn and Elise were the shoppers. Had to get crackin' at replacing that wardrobe!
Success!

We stopped for a celebratory treat at Starbucks on the way home.

The sunrise was so pretty this morning.

Today Brynn and I stopped a few places downtown for Small Business Saturday and then ended at Kayla's (she is from my hometown and has a bakery in West Fargo now) for a hot cocoa bomb for Clara and Brynn picked out some macarons for herself.

One of the places we stopped at, Unglued, had posted on their social that they had this shirt and soon as I saw it, I wanted it! Luckily I found it today. I'm already ready for next Thanksgiving now.

We were so glad for all those who were able to celebrate with us. Thanks to Tessa for many of the above pics!

So much fun! Haha, the pic of Ben eating that truck cookie. Love the gravy maker pics :) Brynn's pasta dish looks fantastic; where was that? You can wear your lefse shirt all holiday season long (Oliver might say you could even wear it for Hannukah)!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
