Pre-Thanksgiving + More Fall + Festivals + Force Game

Whipping up some crepes per request on a Saturday morning.

Clara started a tennis lesson session through Fargo Parks which is held indoors at Courts Plus. She's liking it pretty well so far. It runs only for about six weeks, I believe.

Mom and Dad's lake neighbor kindly came to teach us how to make lefse. It was so fun and she had a lot of great tips. It turned out so wonderfully. I forced myself to put our portion in the freezer so we could serve it at Thanksgiving.

Grandpa has been making custom shelves for the grandkids. Here is Clara's.

Clara's been playing LEGOs a lot lately.

Hubert gave Brynn this giant stuffed dinosaur.

We made a quick overnight trip to Hurdsfield so we could attend the annual Farm and Family Fun Night Fundraiser. I got a bingo and came away with this wreath.

CATS! I was really having a heyday with cats that weekend. We said goodbye to Marsha as we were leaving Weckerlys'.

Then we stopped to check in on Ninja since my parents were away for a while. She clearly loved having us visit her. :-)

Baking chocolate chip cookies.

Brynn and Hubert out to dinner at Olive Garden.

Tessa gave me this small pot and I have been wanting to do a simmer pot and thought we'd try a mini version in this pot. It turned out great and made the kitchen smell amazing. Clara got really into it. I've been saving some other 'recipes' for Christmastime pots as well.

Clara's school didn't have their fall festival around Halloween this year, so they had it a bit later. We had signed up to work the concessions stand.

Benny the Eagle.

I was cracking up at his 'security team' with their custom sweatshirts and all.

Clara playing bingo.

Brynn has been under the weather and is feeling better for the most part, but is still battling a lingering cough.

We were able to take in a Force game though. Dana ended up getting me a ticket after he had already bought his and Brynn's, so he had to sit elsewhere by himself, unfortunately. It was a fantastic game...the Force scored a point to tie the game at 0.2 seconds remaining. No one scored in overtime so they went to a shootout where they ultimately lost.

I'm getting into full Thanksgiving mode over here. This will be our 20th year hosting! I am off work beginning Thursday afternoon this coming week until after Thanksgiving.

Here is what I have been reading or intending to read. I was excited about my salad cookbook I bought from a lady I follow in TikTok. I have gone through and marked all the ones I want to try and noted a couple contenders to serve at Thanksgiving.

I have been trying to get through my Kindle book on my iPad for weeks. I'm just not feeling it. I didn't realize it before I started it, but one interesting thing about it is that it's set in Battle Lake, MN and even references places that are actually in that area. We'll see if I press on or DNF it.

And then Shelly gave me the other book on top when I was down for our visit. It looked pretty good so I'm looking forward to starting that one.

Anyway, back to Thanksgiving! I had to include a few memes I've seen on social media lately.

Eek! Aren't these great!? From Tessa, of course! Can't wait to wear them when I'm shovin' that turkey into the oven on Thanksgiving.

Cash Wise has started to put out some Thanksgiving provisions already so I did pick up the stuffing, but that's it so far.

I was contemplating the sparkling grape juice, but decided to wait as I think I can find it at a better price elsewhere.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
