Picnic in the Park and Just Clara

Today Brynn's class had a picnic in the park at Stonebridge Park which is the one behind our house. Mrs. Stewart invited parents to join them either at the park or to walk over with the class. Brynn asked me if I would walk with them so I met up with them at the school to walk over. It was such a perfect day; the kids seemed to have a lot of fun. I also got to meet one of Brynn's newer friends, Melissa, who moved here mid-year from Philadelphia. She and her family live in the apartments across the park, and I think she and Brynn did play together one night when Dana took Brynn to the park. She was quite a character. She talked non-stop and was so animated. Ha. I got a kick out of her. She also rides the bus in the morning, so Brynn has a bus buddy now and I think they usually eat breakfast together at the school.

Sitting with Melissa and Brynn's other friend, Lilly.

Since it was so nice out Brynn suggested we walk over to Penny's for her piano lesson today. Brynn has been practicing "Tomorrow" from the musical Annie which she'll perform at her recital on Tuesday.

After piano we were going to grab a pizza from Casey's and just as we were walking up to the counter I saw the guy drop a pizza on the floor. Well, of course that was our pizza. Ha. So, we had to wait there until he made a new one. It's right in the middle of the photo, in case you missed it. I took a pic to text Dana, letting him know we were going to be a bit longer than expected.

Killing time waiting for our pizza. It was worth the wait!

Little pumpkin has seemed so much more mobile this past week or two. She always wants to stand and is trying to get around by any means possible. She did pull herself forward on her stomach the other night; whereas she could only go in reverse before. Big girl.

Luckily since it was such a gorgeous day/evening, I could bring Clara out for her round of pics tonight. Such a happy baby.

Just saw this post - those girls look like they have some fun together! Nice shots of them at the park. Oh my sweet Clara is so cute - I'll have to get some reprints of those shots!!! Thinking of Brynnie today with her recital - wish we could be there.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
