Winner, winner; chicken dinner & Happy 80th Birthday to Grandpa

Clara has really picked up on self-feeding in the past week or so. And each day she seems to get a little bit more food into her mouth on her own. She gets a little wild, though, and likes to sweep her food all over with her hands. We found out her favorite so far is chicken. Brynn was a total fruit eater all the way, and Clara seems to be our carnivore. We had tacos tonight and realized she fits right into this family with her love of them too. She scarfed down the (plain) hamburger, cheese, and some tortilla bits. Big girl!

Baby sister was supposed to be lying down for a nap on Saturday afternoon, but as I was rocking her in my lap in her room, she kept sitting up and looking for big sister out in the family room. So, I had to give up on that and they played together for a bit. Mostly Clara chewed on her favorite thing ever, her sock, and Brynn was off doing something else within five minutes. :-) But it was very fun and heartwarming to see them playing together for any amount of time. I have often wondered how much they'll actually play together growing up with this many years between them.

On Sunday we celebrated Grandpa Don's 80th birthday at their farm with aunts, uncles and cousins. Many of Dana's cousins have children now as well, and many of them are close in age to our two which is so fun.

Reese and Clara are only four days apart in age. It was hilarious to watch them together.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa John Deere!

Brynn and Landon had so much fun playing together. They are only a couple of months apart in age.

Daddy with a couple of his cousins and their kids.

Good night! Clara has taken to sleeping on her tummy now. She's so snuggly; I'd love to just crawl into that crib next to her and cuddle with her!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
