Programs

We went and visited Santa at the mall a couple of weekends ago. Clara asked for a stuffed unicorn and I don't know that Brynn really was able to ask for anything...maybe a dog... as Santa was giving her a bad time about keeping her room clean. She wasn't too impressed and later told me that she didn't really want to sit on his lap.

And so began the programs! The first was Brynn's school program.(She's in the blue top and burgundy pants.)

This was from the Sunday Clara sang in church during the service.

Making a Christmas countdown chain which they haven't really been keeping up on very much.

I love this dress we found for Brynn. She looks so old. This was the Sunday she sang in church.

Last Saturday Brynn and I road-tripped to Bismarck to celebrate Reagan's 12th (!) birthday. Reagan had chosen to have it at the gymnastics place in town and they had about an hour to play around. They all seemed pretty worn out by cake and presents time. Happy birthday, Reagan!

On Sunday Adria and family came over so I could take some family pictures of them. The girls got to play together a bit and exchange gifts.

The last program was last night with Brynn's choir concert at school. She was super into it and just did a fantastic job. The hand chimes, folk dance and orchestra groups all performed last night as well and it was fun to see their songs too. I especially enjoyed the folk dancing.

Ugly Christmas sweater (and bottoms) day at my office today.

Here is a video montage of all the performances.

I'll try to preface a little bit so you know what you're watching. :-) You should be able to click on the square on the bottom right of the video to view it in full screen mode.

1. Brynn's school program (blue top, burgundy bottoms in middle front)
2. Clara singing in church - but don't try to look for her; she isn't visible. LOL. But the joy that those kids sang with, I had to include it!
3. HopeKids preschool and after school program. In the group shots, Clara is a shepherd in the middle in turquoise and Brynn is an angel to the left.
4. Brynn singing in church. She was disgruntled because the girl in front of her was pretty tall and she kept bobbing up and down to try and be seen. haha.
5. Brynn's choir concert. (She's almost directly in the middle).

They both did so great for all of their performances. It seemed like a lot, but it was fun watching all of them.

We're still getting ready for Christmas over here, but we have made our bucket list for during the break which includes morning movie, Skate City, volunteering at a homeless shelter, gingerbread house decorating contest and more. We'll be busy, I'm sure!

Fun, fun, fun! Yes, I absolutely love Brynn's dress. Cute sister pics. Is that specifically an MSUM ugly Christmas sweater?! Thanks so much for coming to Reagan's party!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
