Halloween Preview 2020

I saw this guy rotting in DQ the other day.

The secondary grades take their school pictures early for their school IDs. Clara's pictures will be next week. Brynnie looks so old! I always think her pictures turn out well, but she was pretty pleased with how they turned out this year especially.

Clara does some school work on her iPad while in-person at school as well as submitting assignments via their classroom app while distance learning at home. I noticed this video pop up in the app earlier this past week when Clara was in school. It's kind of hard to hear some of it with a lot of background noise, but it's worth it to make it to the end. :-) So precious.

If you couldn't make out what she said at the end, it was "I'm special because I'm made from Jesus." 💓

I spent Friday down south in Frederick, SD again...where I first went to take drone video and pictures of one of our growers two years ago. I was excited to go back to see the fam again. They were doing black bean harvest right now.

Meanwhile, Holly came up to spend the weekend with us girls while Dana went back up North again to help cut woods at their family friends' cabin and ride four wheeler.

Holly took the girls to a couple of garage sales and Brynn added to her scrunchie collection.

Pancakes for brunch on Saturday.

Since it was pretty rainy all day on Saturday, they set up with sewing most of the day.

I thought we were going to try and do Halloween pictures outside of our yard somewhere nearby with some more fall foliage trees, but the girls decided at the first break of the clouds and the sun peaked out this afternoon that they were ready to do them right then! So, I figured I'd better just get while the gettin's good.

Clara is Wonder Woman this year!

Brynn is the Grim Reaper. It turned out great!

Yay! Can't wait for Halloween!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
