Soccer, Swimming, Nanny Jenine

A couple of weeks ago a local apparel company, Lost in Fargo, put on an artist flea market where you could come and purchase art pieces and used supplies. The girls and I checked it out and had a fun time. I found some shirts for Clara and me and Brynn got some used paints that she had been after on the cheap.

The girls have both been having a great time with Jenine, our nanny. She is so amazing. These are a little out of order, but some of these are pics that she has sent me of the girls doing activities...

Clara at her golf lesson.

Brynn's friend who lives close by us also has a younger sister who is already 8, so really close to Clara's age and they have fun together too. Jenine offered to take all four of them out to dinner and for bowling last Friday night. They all had a great time.

While the girls were out having their fun, Dana and I finally went to see what all the hype was about and took in the new Top Gun movie. We gave it a five out of 10. But, it was still fun to go out.

At Scheels doing some target practice. hehe.

Doing a science experiment at Jenine's house.

Clara loves Star Wars and will often draw Baby Yoda. Jenine bought this big Baby Yoda plushie for Clara. 💜💚

I was surprised by Jenine and Brynn at my office last Friday afternoon with this beautiful bouquet. When I walk down the hallway that leads into my office, I can smell them well before I even reach my door.

The weather has been great for water balloons.

This soccer season is now over, much to Clara's disappointment. I'm sure Coach Dad isn't quite as sad though. ;-)

The above pics were from a couple of weeks ago and then this past Monday was their last game. Jenine and her husband came to watch Clara, which was sweet enough, and then they brought her flowers too. Unfortunately we had to cut the game short and high tail it on out as a storm was moving in on us.

When the temps reached over 100 on Sunday, Clara and I headed for the pool. We tried a new one that we hadn't been to before. We had a good time cooling off.

Clara being silly when we were out to eat at Texas Roadhouse.

Clara and I giving Brynn's friend Brooklyn's kitty, Johnny, some loves. She is so sweet...and old. At 18 years of age, she's older than Brooklyn and Brynn! She is in good health, though, thankfully.

Reading on the deck last night instead of updating the blog as I have been meaning to do.

Clara wanted to check out a different park tonight, so we drove over to Willow Park near Scheels and played around until another storm started getting closer.

We're getting some nice, much needed rain right now, so we'll take it. Family rain storm selfie!

Great summer photos! Oh my, that cat. So fluffy. Jenine is the best! Your flowers were beautiful. I bet Clara is going to miss soccer, but at least she's got quite a few other activities to keep her going.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
