Father's Day + Other Goings-on

Grandma Holly had kindly given Clara her old digital camera. I didn't realize Clara took it to the zoo when she and Izabell went together. Clara let me download the pics off the camera.

She said her favorite was the bald eagle.

I found some other random pics on the card as well, so I thought I'd include a couple here.

Last weekend we road tripped down to Sartell to celebrate our friend Jessica's birthday.

We stopped by Dead Lake on our way home on Sunday for Father's Day. We had gone to my parents' lake earlier in the week and gave my dad his gift then, but I didn't get any pics, sadly.

Clara stayed overnight at the lake and we continued on back home.

Once Brynn got off work, we had some Rhombus Guys and Dana opened his gifts. He's holding a little torch that came in the cocktail smoker kit we gave him.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads! We are so blessed to have Dana and the grandpas. 💙

It was a gorgeous day so we went out for an ATV ride with Hubert and Brynn.

We had a busy day on Wednesday with Clara attending a pickleball clinic in the morning and then she and I took in yoga in the park which was at Rheault Farm. It was a perfect evening to be outside.

Then we met Grandpa and Dad at the RedHawks game. Unfortunately they lost, but we still had a good time.

I was reading The Forum on Thursday morning and saw someone familiar. Haha. She really enjoyed the clinic and learned a lot.

Thursday night Grandpa came back to Fargo and we went to the West Fargo Cruise Night. Dana brought his truck. It was super packed there, but nice to see a good turnout for it. We saw quite a few nice cars.

It's so nice to take advantage of the nice days out! Happy Father's Day to Dana! That was so cool that Clara's picture ended up in the paper! I'll have to ask her if she has any pickleball tips for me.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
