Anniversaries

Well, we have zero trees in our backyard now. :-( Some were dying and the others didn't look very good either and Dana wanted to start fresh with a new tree row if we had to cut down some anyhow. Last Saturday, Dana and Hubert cut down three of the end trees and while I was gone Dana finished the other three. It sure looks different out back now!

Hubert got cleaned up and took a break from logging to take some pics with Brynn in the orchard to commemorate their one-year dating anniversary. They are so cute. 💖

Our 20th wedding anniversary was on Wednesday while I was still gone on the Glacier trip. The day I got back,  Dana came home with 20 of my favorite flower.

Brynn found a recipe to make fried chicken so she thawed some chicken breasts from our freezer and she and Hubert breaded the pieces and Dana ended up jumping in to help fry...and to look cool evidently. 👀 It ended up being a midnight snack of sorts as I think they finished around 11:30 PM. They said it turned out really good though.

We had gotten free tickets to another RedHawks game which started out pretty rainy, so we ended up going an hour late and only staying a half an hour as all three kids weren't having a good time. So, they had some snacks and we headed back home. It was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle night, so that was kind of fun.

When we were down in St. Cloud for Jessica's birthday, she gave us this blanket she knitted for our anniversary. My mom had made a quilt that we gave them as a wedding gift when she and Roger got married. It was so thoughtful of her! It's very warm and cozy!

On Saturday to kick off our anniversary date, Dana and I went out about five miles south of our house for a side-by-side ride. It was so fun to just have some time to go for as long as we wanted and not have to get back home by a certain time.

We came upon a cemetery and it had this tiny church there so I made Dana take my picture next to it. It was so cute, but I was also giggling at how I look like a giant next to it.

When we got back, we got cleaned up and hit up Brewhalla before dinner at The Toasted Frog.

Dessert at Insomnia:

We found out they were having a comedy show at The Cellar below Front Street Taproom, so we bought tickets for that while we were at Brewhalla.

We came home and tried to be out by the fire until Dana got too cold. He should have had a wooly mammoth type sweater like I had on.

We were saying how fast 20 years has gone and we are both looking forward to the next 20 and beyond! 💗

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
