School's Out/Hello, Summer

We had Brynn's tennis banquet and pot luck last week Tuesday. So many people and so much food! It was all so delicious and a nice program to celebrate the tennis season.

Then, what seemed like all of a sudden, it was the end of the school year.

Brynn's last official day of class was Tuesday as Wednesday and Thursday were designated as proficiency days to finish up any extra work in your classes and as an opportunity (aka last-ditch effort) to improve your final grade. You were required to attend any classes in which you were sitting at a D or an F. I'm happy to report Brynn didn't need to attend either of the proficiency days. Way to go on a great school year, Brynn!

First day, last day pic:

Clara's last day was Thursday. Unfortunately she hasn't been feeling the best with a stomach ache for most of the week, and she was sad that the school year was ending, so I didn't get any pics of her after school.

Her teacher wrote in her book. She loved her teacher again this year and definitely will miss seeing him and her friends every day.

We were still able to go out for our end-of-school-year treat after I ran Clara to the clinic to see about her stomach (She's feeling better now finally, thankfully!). Brynn and Hubert like to frequent Tea & Crepe downtown so Brynn suggested we all go there. It did not disappoint. Dana and Clara kindly shared some of their crepes with me and they were so yummy. I'll definitely be back again. They also have the rolled ice cream there and boba teas and milks.

Clara shared her awesome drawing, titled 'Rainbow Tears,' with us.

Brynn and Hubert hanging out in Broadway Square with one of their friends this past week.

Brynn has been busy applying to different places for summer employment, so she's hoping something comes to fruition soon.

Izabell will be back with us again to spend the summer with Clara. She's signed up for a pickleball day clinic, tennis lessons again and is returning to Foss for swim class.

Brynn hosted some friends on Saturday for a summer kick-off soiree of sorts. They had a fun time visiting, painting, and playing some tennis.

(From Davin's BeReal, so don't mind the sidewinder pic in the corner. ha)

Brynn put together a yummy spread, including croissanwiches.

Here's what Brynn painted at the party:

Pickleballers!

Here's to a great summer! 🌞

Oh my, I love their art! So talented! I'm glad to hear Clara's feeling better. Rough way to end the school year. Brynn's summer kickoff gathering looked so fun!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
