Memorial Weekend

Clara wanted to make this bacon and egg cup for a second breakfast one morning. It was pretty easy and quick in the microwave. She's gotten really good at making her own scrambled eggs on the stove top and I think she realized that is the preferred method of cooking eggs. :-)

Clara had ordered this kit with her own money and couldn't wait for it to arrive in the mail so she could try it out.

Big sister helped and they've made quite a few matches of bath bombs already. It was nice that it came with enough supplies to do quite a few.

Brynn sent me this pic she had taken of the two of them with her phone. 💓💓

Brynn and I rode bike down to the orchard and took a path that goes along the river.

Dad got in on making bath bombs too. :-)

Clara asked me to take a picture of her tiered 'cake.' Looks delish.

Both girls love to swing. Especially since our city park playgrounds were closed until just recently, I was all the more grateful for our own backyard swing set. Plus, it's so convenient that they can just run out, barefoot, and swing to their heart's content anytime they want.

They call this the 'banana.'

On Saturday we spent the day at Grandpa and Grandma Froemming's lake and were able to check out all the updates they've done to the new cabin. It looks amazing.

The water was still pretty chilly...except by Clara's standards.

Of course we had to do s'mores!

Dana was happy to finally get a hair cut.

On Monday Brynn helped plant some trees around our landscaping.

That only lasted so long before she created a backyard obstacle course for us girls.

My parents stopped by for a visit on their way back from the lake on Monday. We corralled them into a game of baseball.

Bed lunch as my grandpa would call it. :-)

We finally put out Clara's bird feeders she and Brynn made. It's been a bit windy most days which caused all the seed to blow away. :-( We refilled, but haven't seen any birds perch on them yet, unfortunately.

Brynn ended up putting a plate of seed down under the deck and we noticed a blackbird happily partaking in her buffet.

Brynn made a dress-up store and was helping outfit Clara.

Lookin' good!

Making bracelets.

Reading a bedtime story to giraffe.

Beautiful sunset tonight.

I'll do a separate post for Brynn's last days of school and our start to summer. Cheers to summer vacay!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
